Liaoning Medical University is situated in the city of Jinzhou in the province of Liaoning in the North-Eastern part of China. LMU is 3 and the half hours away from Beijing by express train. Established in 1946, the university is believed to educate a considerable number of world-class doctors and other medical work force. This has made an important contribution in the medical research, both in China as well as in abroad. The university has preside over several major research programs. Because of this, the University has entrenched its domestic as well as international reputation.

LMU is considered among one of the top medical universities of China which offers MBBS in English medium by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. LMU is accredited and listed in ECFMG and WHO. LMU is actively participated in international exchange programs and has established cooperative links with a lot of lead institutions and universities.

The campus of Liaoning Medical University covers a large area of 995,500 square meters. It is located in the North of the city of Jinzhou. There are 169 bases for teaching and practice, 116 teaching offices, 56 teaching laboratories, 17 teaching departments, and 3 main affiliated comprehensive hospitals with about 4700 beds for the patients. There are 3880 faculty and staff members. Out of these, there are 358 professors and chief doctors and 680 associate professors. The university’s library has the leading electronic reading room and has access to the retrieval system for medical documents from American MEDLINE and the Chinese Medical Institute.

LMU offers 59 master programs, 24 bachelor programs, and 9 joined-doctor degree programs in both English and Chinese medium. The university also provides a wide range of Chinese language courses and tour study courses which are exclusively designed for foreign students. LMU has 8 provincial key laboratories, 4 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and 2 provincial engineering research centers.

There are over 20,000 students studying medicine-related courses at the university. Till now, over 750 students from over 40 countries have taken admission in LMU. These students have enrolled in various medical programs. Some of the students take admission specially to learn Chinese language program making the LMU a real multicultural community for students.
