Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology is located in Guilin, a world-famous scenic tourist city and a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangxi, and was selected into the national “Basic Capacity Building Project for Central and Western Universities” Colleges and universities, Guangxi key construction colleges and universities.

The school was founded in 1960, and was approved by the State Council to establish Guilin Institute of Electronic Industry in 1980.
